The Satellite Systems Department is headed by Engr. Dr. Aiyeola Sikiru Yommy. He attended the Lagos State University where he obtained B.Sc (Hons) in Electronic/Computer Engineering in the year 1998. He had his Masters Degree in Telecommunications Engineering (M.Eng) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in the year 2013. He obtained his PhD in Communication and Information Systems Engineering from Beihang University, Beijing China in the year 2016. His research interests are Mobile and Satellite Communications, Data Communications, Wireless Communications, Computer Networks and Telecommunications Engineering.
Dr. Aiyeola joined the employ of NASRDA in the year 2001 as one of the pioneer Engineers of the Agency. He was deployed to the project management office of NigComSat-1 in the year 2004. He attended the Bit Evaluation and contract negotiation meeting on NigComSat-1 at Telesat Canada in the year 2004. He was one of the fifty Engineers and Scientists sent for the Know-How-Technology-Transfer (KHTT) training on the first Nigerian Communications Satellite (NigComSat-1). He was one of the engineers that installed the Ground Receiving Station equipment at the Kashi, China and Abuja, Nigeria Satellite Control Centres for NigComSat-1.
During the first edition of the Centre for Satellite Technology Development (CSTD) week celebration in the 2011, he won the most dedicated engineer award.
He is married to Mrs. Aiyeola Maryam Olaide Aramide and the marriage is blessed with children.
