Working with Nigerian Universities

As the leading government scientific and engineering research and development agency in the country, the centre sees it as a moral duty to collaborate with universities and help aid the next generation of Nigerian Scientists and Engineers. CSTD engineers and administrative staff also benefited from this relationship as 2011 saw a significant amount of staff completing Msc and PHD programs in local universities. Some highlights of CSTD collaborative efforts with local universities include

  • 8 engineers are currently pursuing a PHd programmes in FUT Minna
  • A total of 23 students from various Federal university of technology around the country are presently serving their industrial attachment with the centre for satellite technology development
  • Dr Spencer Onuh the CEO of CSTD presented a paper highlighting benefits of space technology to the engineering students in FUT Akure
  • Establishment of Space scientists unit in FUT Akure, and the university of UYO CSTD will continue to explore, build and foster relationships with Nigerian educational institutions (universities, polytechnics and secondary schools) in the year 2012
